Gioconda is a versatile retractable, pleated flyscreen system that can be fitted in windows or Patio Doors, sliding or French, such that the pleats and movement can be either vertical or horizontal dependant upon user preference.
The flyscreens can be either clutch operated (both versions) or chain operated (see picture) when installed in the horizontal version, typically for windows.

The construction is based on a rigid frame and track system, both top and bottom with a retractable mesh pleated flyscreen. This provides a more robust solution for larger openings or ones where the location is more susceptible for windy conditions.

- Both Horizontal and Vertical versions have a 'Clutch' mechanism for maintaining a partially open configuration if required.
- Horizontal Version can additionally be specified with a chain operating mechanism and an 'Operations Stick' with a 180 degree rotation to make opening and closing easier.
Construction
- Frame and housing made from high quality extruded aluminium.
- Finished in acrylic to prevent chipping and scratching.
- Mesh comes in black or grey for insect protection, made from PVC-coated mesh to avoid fading.
- Alternate configurations allow for Darkening or UV-Protection.
- Pleats manufactured by a patented process, carrying a guarantee against splitting.
Size and colour options
Plisse doors can be fitted as one screen or multiple screens. When fitted as multiple units, the locking mechanism can be 'Central' or 'one after the other', for very wide doors.
Door Heights can be up to 3 metres, with individual screen widths up to 2 metres.
Plisse Screens come in two finishes, black or grey, for flyscreens. They may also be supplied with a Plated Darkening finish, or Filtering in 4 colours.
Frames can be supplied as solid colours (9 options), Marbled (7 options) or Wood Grain (12 options). Details and samples can be provided on request.

Measurement guide for fly screens
Ideally, Simply Screens would prefer to visit you for a full site survey and a 'no obligation' quotation for consideration before ordering.
However, if you wish to obtain a budgetary quotation for a particular combination of units, we require the following information:
- Type of door existing ie French door, sliding door, hinged etc.
- Width of opening (W) and Height of opening (H).
- Description of the threshold, ideally in the form of a jpeg photograph attached to our contact form
Orders will only be confirmed following a site survey, to ensure all aspects of the installation are considered. No cost is added to cover this service.
